High school graduate, Madeline Rice, presents 2009 recipient Susan Whitely of Cascade Christian Academy in Wenatchee, WA, with a bouquet of flowers. Whitely taught Madeline in first grade over 12 years ago.

The presentation came mid-way through the Spring concert right after Susan Whitely's 4th graders had played their first song. The entire school surprised Whitely with a huge banner across the stage and announced her as the winner of a 2009 Excellence in Teaching Award.
