Last Weekend to Nominate a Teacher

Posted on February 7th, 2014

Olga Simmons_1There are only a couple days left to submit your nomination for an Excellence in Teaching Award. All nominations must be submitted by 8 am EST Monday, February 10.

Nominating a teacher for an Excellence in Teaching Award is a great way to show how much you appreciate them and all of their hard work. This program is the only Division-wide initiative in our church that honors dedicated Adventist teachers and showcases their exceptional talents.

After Monday, we will review all nominations and select the 10 recipients who will receive a $2,000 cash gift, a medallion, recognition plaques for the teacher and school, and acknowledgement in various Adventist and non-Adventist media.

Give thanks to a hard-working and caring teacher by nominating them for an Excellence in Teaching Award by Monday at 8 am EST.

We are a Network

Posted on February 6th, 2014

DSCF3806Since we started the Renaissance Network in 2011, we have focused our efforts into forming a network of schools working together to reshape the future of Adventist education. Now three years later, we are in management agreements with three schools (soon to be four!), working with administrators and teachers to impact the lives of students and families around North America. This progress is all possible because of God and the hard working faculty and staff of the Renaissance Network.

On January 26-28, 2014, we hosted our second semiannual conference of Renaissance Network principals, business managers, school managers, and AAF staff in Scottsdale, Arizona. The agenda included items such as developing 2014-2015 School Enhancement Plans; Professional Learning Communities; a unified teacher evaluation system; financial software, audits, policies and procedures; and achieving buy-in from the community. In addition, the principals presented exciting projects and incentives that they are implementing on each of their campuses. It was great to see our mission of creating a network of schools transforming the landscape of Adventist education becoming a reality.

DSCF3857One of the most exciting parts for us was see everyone passion for bettering their school and to see Adventist education thrive. One way we saw this was their clear enthusiasm among the participates for collaboration between the schools. They are excited to be apart of a network where teachers can work with teachers from other schools to develop best practices and learn new strategies.

As we plan for the 2014-2015 school year, we are energized by the response and ideas from all those who participated in our semiannual conference. We look forward to what this new year brings and seeing more collaboration among the schools.

But the most exciting part is that we can truly say we are a Network.

2013 Year in Review

Posted on January 3rd, 2014

In 2011, we launched the Renaissance Network – a management company that works exclusively with Seventh-day Adventist K-12 schools. Today, the Renaissance Network operates on three campuses, strengthening the educational experience of 552 students.

We’ve seen progress in the Renaissance Network that we only dreamed possible three years ago. We thank God for His guidance through the development of this program.  (more…)

Will you help us meet our goal this Christmas?

Posted on December 19th, 2013

Dear Friends,

This holiday season we have the opportunity to give $600,000 to Adventist academies within the Renaissance Network. But we can only accomplish this with your help!!

One of our major partners, the Commonweal Foundation, has challenged us to raise $300,000 by January 15, 2014. If we can meet this goal, they will match it – 100%! This objective is stretch – nearly twice what we raised last Christmas. But we are hopeful this goal will be met with your support.

I encourage you to give on this special today to AAF. We are making many positive strides in transforming Adventist education. With your help we will continue to see the Renaissance Network grow and succeed.

This year, one of our major partners, the Commonweal Foundation, has generously offered to donate $300,000 if we can raise the same amount by January 15, 2014. This goal is a stretch – nearly twice what we raised last Christmas. But we’re hopeful that we can met this objective with your support!

Your donation will help the Renaissance Network give Adventist schools the people, systems, technology, and practices needed to become centers of excellence.

Please consider how much you can share for this effort. A gift of $50, $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 makes all the difference!
