EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS

Rondi Suzanne Aastrup Reynolds

Mrs. Reynolds received her Bachelor of Arts from Atlantic Union College and her Master’s degree from Andrews University.  She has a long and distinguished history of outstanding service during her 37-year career as an Adventist educator.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Reynolds has served as a fundraiser, recruiter, marketing director, editor, communications director, Vice Principal, as well as serving 4 years as the Principal of Greater Boston Academy.

She is currently Vice Principal for Academics and English teacher at Thunderbird Adventist Academy.  She has demonstrated exceptional leadership by becoming a mentor and advisor to the staff over the years.

Mrs. Reynolds has received numerous awards and recognitions for her distinguished service including but not limited to receiving three Teacher of the Year awards at Cedar Lake Academy, South Lancaster Academy and Greater Boston Academy. In 1996 she was awarded the prestigious Zappara Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Mrs. Reynolds maintains a clean, orderly and stimulating classroom.  She cares about her students and strives to give them the necessary tools to ensure their future success.

Mrs. Reynolds initiated the first Dual Credits Class for Thunderbird Academy through La Sierra University.  Thanks to this new program, qualifying Seniors have had the opportunity to earn college credits in English, while still in high school, at a fraction of the cost.

Thank you, Mrs. Reynolds, for your years of dedication and commitment to Adventist education!

Dean Linda Louise Kline

AAF’s research indicates that boarding academies offer the greatest opportunity to impact our students for life.  Accordingly, the Alumni Awards Foundation is, for the first time, awarding a 2016 Excellence in Teaching award to an exceptional and outstanding Dean.

Dean Linda Kline received both her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. She is an exemplary role model for her girls.  She has created a real family atmosphere within the dorm.  As their “mom” at school, she is attentive, understanding, patient and caring.  When necessary she disciplines with love.

Dean Linda brings vitality, fun and ingenuity into the dorm spiritual programs.  Most importantly, Dean Linda understands the importance of letting students lead, and encourages them to assume as many leadership roles as possible in the dorm.

Dean Linda often taken those who cannot travel home during home leaves on special trips, sacrificing her personal time to give them cultural and fun experiences during school breaks. Each year she organizes and raises the funds to support a joint mission trip for both the girls and boys dorms.

In addition to service as school nurse, Mrs. Klein is also the Director of Thunderbird Academy’s Certified Nursing Assistance Program. This year, 13 students graduated from the CNA program, with 100% passing their Arizona state board examinations.

Thank you, Mrs. Klein, for your invaluable contribution to Adventist education!
